GM shakes out Pontiac and Hummer

47 plants in ’08 will now be culled back to 27 facilities in North America for GM. They will achieve these job cuts by removing Hummer and Pontiac from production. Thank god. While there will now be less deliveries to a warehouse dock, there can now be deliveries to dock doors that might actually have a chance at creating products that consumers want and need. With 4 brands only GM should never again receive government assistance – considering the total work force impacted is 61, 000 people in a populace of nearly 300 million. Is this a winning strategy Fritz?
